Venice is a place I regularly visit to paint being a perfect combination of all the elements I’m drawn to. Colorful crumbling render and rust surrounded by beautifully architectured shapes could hardly fail to produce an interesting subject. The unlikely green of the canals adds a further element. As always, I find it’s at it’s best when illuminated by strong sun, particularly very early in the morning or just before the sun disappears.
All prints are limited editions, which are numbered and signed by myself. I have overseen the production of each of them to ensure accurate colour matching. These finest quality archival prints use lightfast pigmented ink on heavyweight acid-free paper. All prints are available framed or unframed. Since 1992, James has worked as a contemporary landscape and seascape painter. He has a strong reputation within the British contemporary art market and his recognisable, ‘loose and energetic’ style has gained widespread acclaim.
