Winter can be beautiful and I’ve painted many wintry scenes over the years. With the low sun and long blue shadows, these landscapes can make a great subject.
However, as you probably know, most of the things I choose to paint are bathed in sun and warm light, and this time of year is when I most appreciate the mood that these subjects evoke. While warm days seem a long way away, paintings in those strong and vibrant colours, and the associations that come with them, can be so uplifting. A bright and cheerful window into summer days, past and future.
I hope they have a similar effect on you…
Here are some of my new paintings & prints in the gallery this December…
The show will be here at Mill House Gallery in Parbold and (if the ones that I’m still working on go to plan) will consist of about 25 paintings.
As promised, it will be a colourful collection of work, celebrating the vibrancy of the region and its emotive landscapes. Many paintings are based on early morning or just before sunset, when the low light is at its most dramatic.
There will be a page on the website for the exhibition so please keep an eye out or enter your email address in below if you would like to be notified when this goes live.
