Just returned from a great couple of days in Venice. It was a spontaneous trip to take advantage of perfect conditions and I got exactly what I was hoping for. Venice is much quieter in winter (not to mention colder!). The days are short, the shadows are long and the colours are quite different to summer.
Also some amazing sunsets over the lagoon. This is a painting that I started as soon as I got back. Still a work in progress…
